I Now Pronounce You Woman And Monument

Wiki:

Objectum sexuality commonly referred to as OS, is a pronounced emotional desire towards particular inanimate objects. Those individuals with this expressed preference may feel strong feelings of arousal, attraction, love, and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation. For some, sexual or even close emotional relationships with humans are incomprehensible. The term objectum-sexuality (Ger. objektsexualität) was coined in the 1970s by Eija-Riitta Eklöf Berliner-Mauer, a woman from Liden, Sweden who was "married" to the Berlin Wall. Objectum-sexual individuals also often believe in animism, or the belief that objects have souls, intelligence, feelings, and are able to communicate.

In Feb 2008, Erika Eiffel, an objectum-sexual from San Francisco, California founded OS Internationale, an educational website and community for those identifying or studying the condition to love objects. The website generated a flood of international media interest. Eiffel, whose name derives from her marriage to the Eiffel Tower in 2007, has been featured as a spokesperson in variety of international articles, radio talk shows, and television programs.

On Nov 9, 1989 I was in Berlin when the Wall came tumbling down. The place was a madhouse, people screaming and cheering for days on end. I recall one woman, looking just like the one on the bridge, passing out drunk and men bustling her to a nearby hallway where they all took turns screwing her. I saw quite a few coming out grinning and adjusting their pants. I thought about taking a chance and getting a free lay but I just shrugged and went to see more of the Wall crumbling...

It must have been quite incredible to have been there, Mykola. I can only imagine the heights emotions must have reached. I had to make do with watching it on TV.

I guess a lot of crude and cruel stuff happened too, as your anecdote describes.

Sky high joy, and probably alcohol too -- lots of it, bringing out the best and worst in humans.

Good thing I stopped drinking in 86 and concentrated on my novel which I finished in 89. It gave me a little peace to relax in and see Europe, little did I know that the Berlin Wall was going to drop....BOOM!

They say all good things come to an end, or even bad things...good that they did.

But to get back to the point of Chris' excellent post. I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU WOMAN AND MONUMENT.

The fetish brings to mind P.S. Haven's story -- CHARLES SYKES SPIRIT OF ECSTASY -- in which a girl has an overwhelming desire for the Rolls Royce car emblem.

And, er, one of my own, LA PETITE DANSEUSE. A desire for Monsieur Degas' sculpted figurine.

Thanks for this Chris -- I really enjoyed it.
